Reception Marking 40th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Luxembourg Held in Beijing
The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and The Embassy to China of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg jointly held the reception celebrating 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg. Chen Changzhi, the vice-chairman of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress and His Highness Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg were present and delivered speeches. More than 200 people from China and Luxembourg attended the reception.
Vice Chairman Chen Changzhi said in his speech, since the diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg established 40 years ago, the both sides had been respecting each other and treating each other equally, so that the relations between the two countries had achieved tremendous development. Luxembourg was always upholding One-China policy. We highly praised Luxembourg for understanding and supporting the Chinese stand on issues related to the territory and sovereignty of China. China paid great attention on developing the relations with Luxembourg. We’d like to cooperate with Luxembourg and take 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations of the two countries as an opportunity, to further deepen the political mutual trust, keep high-level and all-level contacts, strive for enhancing the bilateral trading and mutual investing level, closer the cultural exchange of humanity, energize the bilateral relations and promote China-Luxembourg relation to obtain further development continuously.?
Chen Changzhi and His Highness Guillaume unveiled the commemorative envelop for 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg. Chen Changzhi also presented His Highness Guillaume the commemorative album.

Reception Celebrating Founding of 2012-2017 Council and 60th Anniversary of Establishment of China-India Friendship Association Held in Beijing
The reception celebrating the founding of 2012-2017 council and the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of China-India Friendship Association CIFA) was held in Beijing On November 23th. Jiang Zhenghua, the former vice chairman of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the president of CIFA, Feng Zuoku, the vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Lin Yi, the secretary-general of the CPAFFC, Cheng Hong, the deputy chief editor of China Central Television (CCTV), Han Fangming, the deputy director of Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were present.

In the conference, the last 5 years’ work of CIFA was summarized; the 2012-2017 executive Council members of CIFA were selected in the conference. The council members proposed their concrete opinions and suggestions on promoting the people-to-people friendship between the two countries and how CIFA carrying out its work better.

On behalf of the executive council of CIFA, President Jiang Zhenghua addressed the celebrating reception and unveiled the commemorative envelop of 60th Anniversary of establishment of CIFA with Arun Kumar Sahu, the Charge D’Affairs of Indian Embassy in China.
In the reception, a slide show about CIFA’s history was presented. The music, dancing and yoga performed by the council members of CIFA foiled a warm and friendly atmosphere for the reception.
Reception Marking 40th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and The Netherlands Held in Beijing
On November 20th, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Royal Netherlands Embassy jointly hosted the reception marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands at the Peace Palace of CPAFFC. Mr. Xie Hangsheng, Vice Foreign Minister attended the reception.
Mr. Li Jianping, Vice President of CPAFFC and Mr. Aart Jacob, Ambassdor of the Netherlands attended the reception and delivered speeches. Mr. Li said in his speech that, despite of several ups and downs, the past 40 years of diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands maintained steady with frequent high-level exchanges and enhanced political mutual trust. Economic interests increasingly blended. Great achievements have been made on local cooperation and people-to-people friendship. we will continue to strengthen people-to-people friendship, enhance the mutual trust between our two peoples and strive for a better future between China and the Netherlands. Mr. Jacob said in his speech that, the relationship between China and the Netherlands dated long back into history. We kept frequent high-level contacts. In the Netherlands, a new government has just been inaugurated, and in China new leaders were about to take their places as well. In the near future we will see more visits between our two countries, and cooperation will develop in every sectors.
The reception enjoyed a rich content with various forms. Photo exhibition and concert showed to the audience the history of bilateral relations, the cooperations and profound friendship. The reception invited the representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Department of CPC, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Food and Drug Administration, Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, Hebei Foreign Affairs Office, Bank of Beijing, and Dutch friends from Internationale Nederlanden Group, RABO Bank Netherlands, Philips, Shell China and Van Gogh Musemu and so on. Around 100 guests attended the reception.
Celebration of 55th Anniversary of Establishment of Russia-China Friendship Association Successfully Held
On November 2, 2012, the?celebration of?55th Anniversary of the?establishment of Russia-China Friendship Association (RCFA) jointly organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and China-Russia Friendship Association (CRFA) was successfully held at Peace Palace in the CPAFFC. Chen Haosu, the president of CRFA, Liu Shu, the former president of China Association for Science and Technology and adviser of CRFA, the descendants of revolution elders such as Li Min, the daughter of Chaiman Mao Zedong, the RCFA delegation headed by M.L. Titarenko, the president of RCFA, S.S.Razov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to China, the representatives of envoys of the Russian Embassy in China and representatives of capital media were present.
President Chen Haosu, Adviser Liu Shu, President Titarenko, Ambassador Razov and other present guests delivered speeches respectively at the gathering. The guests recalled the 55 years history of RCFA and spoke highly about the outstanding contributions of? Russian friendly-to-China personages made with Titarenko as President of the Association, for furthering the people’s understanding and traditional friendship of USSR and China. In his speech, President Titarenko appreciated for the positive evaluation given to RCFA for its work. He said, RCFA would dedicate to further deepening the relations and the people’s friendship between two countries.
The first vice president of RCFA G.V.Kulikova introduced her new work, Russia and China: People-to-people diplomatic, at the conference. A reception was followed after the gathering.
Vice President Li Jianping Attends Launching Ceremony of CJ Harmony Foundation
On November 2nd, vice president Li Jianping of the CPAFFC attended the launching ceremony of the art education program which financed by the Korean CJ Group and aiming for supporting the school of migrant workers’ descendants, in Yuzhu School, Changping district, Beijing. Park Keun-Tae, the chairman of CJ Group China Headquarter, Zhou Ling, the director of Foreign Affairs Office of Changping District, Han Wenyong, the deputy director of Education Commission of Changping District were present. Ahn Chi-Hyun, the Korean well known performing artist rehearsed with the students of Yuzhu school and cut the ribbon for the launching ceremony.
At the launching ceremony, Vice President Li Jianping appreciated the donation from CJ Group, he said, at the moment of 20th anniversary of establishment of China-ROK diplomatic relations, this philanthropic by CJ Group would not only bring dreams and hope to the children, but would also enlarge the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. He hoped this event would be an opportunity to appeal more enterprises with social responsibility and kind-hearted personnel to take part in public Charities.
2nd 2012 China-ROK Young Friendship Ambassador Delegation Visits R.O. Korea
At the invitation of Korea Foundation and Korea-China Youth Cultural Association (known as Future Forest), the second 2012 China-ROK Young Friendship Ambassador Delegation headed by Qi Jianguo, the adviser of China-ROK Friendship Association and former Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, visited R.O. Korea from Oct.,22 to 30. The delegation which formed by 150 outstanding students from the universities of Beijing, Henan, Qinghai, Zhejing and Shaanxi visited Seoul, Chonju, Kunsan, Taego, Busan and Cheju.
The visit of the delegation is to implement the consensus on further enlarging the scale of invitation for youths, which was reached by the presidents of both countries when the Chinese President Hu Jintao visited R.O. Korea in 2008. This delegation is one of the exchanging visits for China-ROK youths which jointly sponsored by the CPAFFC and the Korean Foundation, undertaken by Future Forest.
This year is the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of China-ROK diplomatic relations and Year of China-ROK Friendly Exchanges. The visit of the delegation has special significance. On Oct.,23th, the delegation members and the Korean youth representatives as well concurrently visiting Beijing Youth Federation delegation members totaled more than 300 people attended activity celebrating Day of China-ROK Youths’ Friendship and the welcome banquet.
During the visit in Korea, the delegation gave audience to the introduction of the development of China-Korean relations by Park Joon-Young, the Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Park Byeong-gwangthe, the resercher of Asan Institute for Policy Studies. The delegation also visited Saemengeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone, Daegu Palgongsan and Jeju Seongsan Sunrise Peak. Through these activities, the delegates obtained not only certain understandings in Korean political, economic and cultural background, but also got to know more in a direct way of the connotation and significance of China-ROK friendship.
Vice President Feng Zuoku Confers China-Pakistan Friendship Award to Parkistan Ambassador to China
On Oct., 29, 2012, CPAFFC vice-president Feng Zuoku met with and held a banquet for Ambassador Masood Khan, who was leaving his position of Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.
Ambassador Masood Khan recalled his 8 years’ diplomatic career in China and expressed his deep friendship to China and the Chinese people many times. He said, since the first time he studied his Chinese in Beijing Language & Culture University, an irrevocable relation was made between China and him. Not only himself, his family members all loved China too. It could be even said that he was a Chinese. He also said, although he was leaving for the occupation in UN, he would still keep China in his mind.
Vice-president Feng Zuoku highly praised Ambassador Masood Khan’s great contribution to China-Pakistan relation, especially the non-governmental contacts between the two countries, in his term of service. He specially mentioned Masood Khan’s strong support to Brightness Mission, China-Pakistan University Students Forum, China-Pakistan Youth Scientists China-Pakistan Forum. He hoped the ambassador could continuously promote the development of China-Pakistan relations.
After the meeting, vice president Feng Zuoku conferred the China-Pakistan Friendship Award to Masood Khan, for commending his distinguished contribution to the cause of China-Pakistan friendship.
CPAFFC Delegation Headed by Vice President Jing Dunquan Visits 3 Countries in Europe
At the invitation of Switzerland-China Friendship Association, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland and Somerset Shire in England, a 7-person CPAFFC delegation headed by vice president Jing Dunquan visited Switzerland, Poland and England from October 13th to 24th . The visit is aiming for promoting the human cultural exchanges between the CPAFFC and correlative organizations and local authorities, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship, further enlarging the fields of future cooperation. The delegation also includes the leaders of Guizhou Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
During the visit, Vice President Jing Dunquan respectively met with the people in charge of correlative institutions in Switzerland, Poland and England, and discussed on issues of international situation, cultural cooperation, cultural exchange and strengthening the contacts of local authorities. The meeting had achieved a series of intention for cooperation.
In Switzerland, the delegation had working meetings with Beat Nobs, the State Secretariat of the State Secretary For Asian-Pacific affairs of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Swiss Confederation, Switzerland-China Society,and Consulate-General of China in Zurich. In Poland, the delegation contacted and had a meeting in Adam Mickiewicz University which specialized in charge of the promotion of the Polish culture. Both sides agreed to strengthen the communication and cooperation with each other, and establish the relation of long-term strategic partnership. In England, Somerset also wished to strengthen the contact with the CPAFFC on issues of economic and trading cooperation, technical training, cultural exchange and establishing friendship cities.
Bilateral Relations Seminar on 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Tajikistan, and New Works of Ambassador Alimov Publication Ceremony Successfully Held
Bilateral Relations Seminar on 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Tajikistan and the New Works Publication Ceremony of Alimov, the Tajikistani Ambassador in China, which jointly sponsored by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC),the China-Central Asia Friendship Association and China Foundation for International Studies (CFIS), was successfully held in the Peace Palace of the CPAFFC on October 25th,2012.

More than fifty persons including Zhang Deguang, the director-general of the CFIS and president of China-Central Asia Friendship Association, Liu Guchang, the Executive Director of the CFIS , Li Jianping, the vice president of the CPAFFC and China-Central Asia Friendship Association, Alimov, the Tajikistani ambassador in China, other diplomats from Tajikistani Embassy in China, and relevant leaders, consultants, councilors from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CFIS, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institute of International Studies, and representatives from the news media, attended this activity.
First of all, Zhang Deguang, Liu Guchang, Li Jianping and other Chinese leaders delivered speeches. They all highly praised Ambassador Alimov for his distinguished contribution to promoting the development of relationship and mutual friendship between China and Tajikistan. They also reviewed the achievements had been made in cooperation in various fields since the establishment of the diplomatic relations of the two counties 20 years ago. Later, in his summary speech, Ambassador Alimov thanked the Chinese guests for their recognition on his work; he said he would continue to make greater contribution in the? further for promoting the bilateral relation and deepening the mutual understanding and friendship for generations between the people of the two countries.

The two new books of Alimov, Tajikistan and China: the Opposite Way and Tajikistan and China: Cultural Dialog which separately refers to the bilateral relations and cultural cooperation between China and Tajikistan, were introduced at the seminar.
Reception Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Uganda and China Held in Beijing
Jointly organized by the Chinese People’s Association For Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC),?the Chinese and African People’s Friendship Association(CAPFA) and the Uganda Embassy, the reception celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Uganda and China was held in Beijing on October 18th, 2012. Vice President of Uganda, Edward Ssekandi , sent his video congratulatory message to the reception. H.E. Mr.Abdul’ahat Abdurixit,Vice Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC) and President of CAPFA,? Mr. Zhai Jun, Vice Minister of Chinese Foreign Ministry attended the reception. Mr. Feng Zuoku, Vice President of CPAFFC and Mr.Wagidoso, Ambassador of Uganda delivered the speech at the reception respectively.
Mr. Feng Zuoku said, the traditional friendship between China and Uganda has a long history and has had a steady and healthy development. The bilateral high-level exchanges has become more frequent, mutual political trust has been increased and our cooperations in various fields have been deepened. China and Uganda have maintained close coordination and cooperation in international affairs and always supported each other on the issues related to the core and major interests.? China is willing to work together with Uganda to continue to deepen our cooperations in various fields and make joint efforts to seek new ways of cooperation, especially in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, infrastructure construction. Therefore, taking the opportunity of the 50th anniversary,China would like to push our friendship to a new stage.
Ssekandi said, China established diplomatic relations with Uganda 2 days after Uganda won its independence in October 1962. China was among the first countries that made friends with Uganda. For 50 years, the exchanges between our people have been enhanced and thus our friendship has been strengthened. Our traditional friendship has provided the motive of trust to our friendly relations. Taking this opportunity, on behalf of Uganda government and people, I’d like to? express my sincere thanks to you for you have been standing with us in the most difficult time of our history. We hope to develop? more strategic and effective win-win cooperations with china to bring benefits to people of Uganda and other African countries.
