Secretary-General Sun Xueqing Attends General Assembly of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities in Brazil
From May 25 to 30, 2025, at the joint invitation of Kazan, Russia, and Maricá, Brazil, Sun Xueqing, Secretary-General of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation to attend the General Assembly of BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. Secretary-General Sun Xueqing delivered a keynote speech at the event.?The assembly brought together representatives from cities and subnational governments across 26 countries, including China, Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Russia, and South Africa.Secretary-General Sun Xueqing remarked?that,?subnational city cooperation is a vital driving force?for the high-quality development of broader BRICS Cooperation. The First China-India-UAE Tripartite Dialogue Held in Beijing
On May 26, 2025, the First China-India-UAE Tripartite Dialogue?was successfully held in Beijing. Co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Peking University, the dialogue centered on the theme "An Open and Cooperative Asia." Speakers at the opening ceremony included Vice President Yuan Mindao of the CPAFFC, Vice President Fang Fang of Peking University, H.E. Nickolay Mladenov, Director-General of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy, and Mohammed Saqib, CEO of the India China Economic and Cultural Council and Convener of the Global South Geoeconomic Center.The event brought together representatives and thought leaders from government, academia, and media across the three countries. Vice President Shen Xin Meets with Guests from Peru
On May 23, 2025, Vice President Shen Xin of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with García, Peru's Deputy Minister of Health, and Yong Motta, President of the Instituto Cultural Peruano-Chino?at the CPAFFC.Vice President Shen Xin noted that Peru was one of the first Latin American countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and the first in the region to sign a package of free trade agreements with China.
