Ceremony to Launch the China India Joint Medical Mission Ⅲ & Photo Exhibition to Mark the 74th Anniversary of Arrival of Aid-China India Medical Mission
Launch Ceremony On June 25th, The Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and China-India Friendship Association (CIFA) jointly held the Ceremony to Launch the China India Joint Medical Mission Ⅲ & Photo Exhibition to Mark the 74th Anniversary of Arrival of Aid-China India Medical Mission in the CPAFFC. Jiang Zhenghua, the former Vice-Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People''s Congress, President of CIFA, Feng Zuoku, Vice-President of the CPAFFC, Executive Vice-President of CIFA, the representatives from the Indian Embassy in China, members of the China India Joint Medical Mission, council members of CIFA and other Chinese and Indian guests were present. vice-president Feng Zuoku at the exhibition This year is the “Year of China-India Friendship & Cooperation”,which was jointly declared by Hu Jingtao, the president of China and Manmohan Singh, the premier of India. This medical mission is one of the series of the national programs of “Year of China-India Friendship & Cooperation” which issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. It is combined by the Indian doctors visiting China to hold free clinic and the Chinese doctors visiting India to hold free clinic. the donation This year is also at the time of 60th anniversary of establishment of CIFA and 70th anniversary of the death of aid- China doctor, the old friend of the Chinese people, Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis. For the above reasons, the CPAFFC and CIFA jointly held Photo Exhibition to Mark the 74th Anniversary of Arrival of Aid-China India Medical Mission. This medical mission assembled 17 Chinese and Indian doctors of departments of surgery, gynecology and stomatology. The medical mission had held free clinic in Hebei Province from June 26th to 30th. In year 2008 and 2010, the CPAFFC and CIFA organized China India Joint Medical Mission twice which composed by excellent Chinese and Indian doctors. They went to the rural areas in China and India, to provide medical service and donate medicines, and left popular stories for China-India people-to-people contacts.? In order to make the deeds of Indian aid-China mission known by more people, at the moment of 74th anniversary of arrival of Aid-China India Medical Mission, the CPAFFC and CIFA jointly produced a theme photo exhibition, which revealed the glorious achievements the India Medical Mission had made through some precious historical pictures. treatment

US-China Forum on the Arts and Culture Held in USA

The 3rd China- Canada Cultural Dialogue Held
Lin Yi, Secretary General of the CPAFFC addressing the opening ceremony The 3rd China- Canada Cultural Dialogue was jointly held in Beijing by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Canadian Fund for International Understanding Through Culture from 25 to 26 June, 2012. Lin Yi, Secretary General of the CPAFFC, Dr. Nelly Ng, Chairman of the Canadian Fund for International Understanding through Culture,? Mai Daowei, Counselor, Canadian Embassy?in China, and about 100 representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China Soon Ching Ling Foundation, National Institute of Traditional Chinese painting, National Center for the Performing Arts, Canadian Museums Association, Canada Science and Technology Museum and varieties of museums, universities and cultural organizations attended the?opening ceremony.? This Cultural Dialogue made thorough discussions, exchanged experiences, shared results for the training of leadership capacity?to further China-Canada cultural communication and cooperation and other subjects. In 2010, the 2nd China Canada Cultural Dialogue was held in Canada for the subject of celebrating the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada. It was proved that cultural dialogue made more benefits for increasing mutual understanding and friendship between the people of two countries, and it was worthy of continuing to do the culture dialogue. Dr. Nelly Ng said cultural dialogue had strengthened the communication and cooperation between China and Canada in the field of culture and arts. It would further enrich the contents of cooperation of both sides through concrete cultural programs, and consolidate better friendly relationship between two countries. During the dialogue, the cultural organizations attended the meeting made a consultation face to face and discussed the possibility of the mutual cooperation. Vice-President Jing Dunquan hold Banquet to Welcome Delegation of Japan International Medical & Rescue Team
At the invitation of the CPAFFC, a 15 member delegation of Japan International Medical & Rescue Team which had participated in the earthquake relief work? in Wenchuan, Sichuan, visited Beijing and Sichuan from Jun.12 to 16, 2012. Vice-President Jing Dunquan of the CPAFFC held a banquet to welcome the delegation in Beijing in the evening of Jun.12.? The representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, China Earthquake Administration, the Japanese Embassy in China and Beijing Office of Japan International Cooperation Agency were present. In his address, Jing Dunquan welcomed the delegation’s visit to China, and appreciated the Japanese government and people for their support and assistance given to the Chinese people during the earth quake in Wenchuan, Sichuan. He highly complimented Japan International Medical & Rescue Team for its sublime professional dedication and humanitarianism. Jing Dunquan said, it had been 4 years since the Wenchuan earthquake occurred, the after-disaster reconstruction in earthquake-stricken area had been completed substantially under the strong leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government, as well as the people’s efforts of the whole country which supported by the international community including Japan. The earthquake-stricken area would strive to realize a rapid economic and social development based on the reconstruction. He would sincerely wish and believe the earthquake-stricken area in Northeastern Japan would also resurrect in short time, and achieve further development from a fresh start. He expected China and Japan to continue to cooperate in the field of after-disaster reconstruction. Jing Dunquan said, the visit of Delegation of Japan International Medical & Rescue Team was at the personal invitation of Premir Wen Jiabao, during his visit to Japan in May, 2010; it is one of the important activities of 40th anniversary of normalization of relations between China and Japan. May the profound friendship between China and Japan last forever; may the people of two countries keep friendship from generation to generation.” During the visit in China, the delegation met respectively with Tang Jiaxuan, president of China-Japan Friendship Association and Wei Hong, the executive vice- governor of Sichuan Province. In addition, the delegation visited the National Emergency Seismic Rescue Training Base of China, the earthquake-stricken area in North Sichuan and Huaxi Hospital, to learn about the achievements of the after-disaster reconstruction, got together and had exchanges with the Chinese crews as well as medical and nursing personnel who the delegates had worked together before.

Stars In Penglai 2012 Internation Symposium Held

Charity Concert Held in National Centre for the Performing Arts
A charity concert, jointly hosted by China Friendship Foundation for Peace & Development and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Assisted by Beijing Philharmonic Chorus, and sponsored by United Bank of Switzerland was held in National Centre for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m., Jun.10, 2012. Gu xiulian, Vice-chairperson of the 10th NPC Standing Committee, Chairperson of China National Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth; Lin Yi, Secretary-General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries were present in the activity. This concert was conducted through music generally for school children mentally handicapped in Beijing and its suburb. The aim of the activity was to inspire and cultivate their interest of music, bring out their potential in music, provide them a chance of fully and equally enjoying music, build a bridge between them and the society, accordingly call all circles of the society to show concern for vulnerable groups and commonly promoting the development of causes of helping disabled and special education. The whole concert was consisted with mentally handicapped children’s vocal music, instruments and dances. The children showed their vigor and spirit of youth through their happy performances. Audience were touched by their innocent and bright smile; every heart was deeply moved by their hope of being understood and accepted by the society, their wish of being as strong and kind as others,? and their desire of chasing the dreams with all efforts. At the end of the concert, all performers and children presented singing A Grateful Heart together which climax the concert. Clapping continued for a long time and filled the whole music hall. As a 4A grade organization for public benefit, China Friendship Foundation for Peace & Development has been dedicating to the cause of education especially special education. Mr. Jing Dunquan, Vice President of CPAFFC attended the Fifth Ministerial Conference of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum

At the invitation of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Secretary Office, Vice President of CPAFFC Mr. Jing Dunquan, attended the Fifth Ministerial Conference of CASCF in Tunisia from May 29 to June 4, and made a speech at the conference. The subject of this Ministerial Conference is “Deepen Strategic Cooperation, Promote Common Development”. Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the conference. Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Nabil Elaraby, some ministers and their representatives from other Arab states attended the conference. Photo Exhibition on China-US Relations Held in Beijing
On the afternoon of May 30, the Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) jointly held an opening ceremony for the Photo Exhibition on China-US Relations to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Nixon''s visit to China and the 39th anniversary of the performance tour of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra in China. Chen Haosu, former President of the CPAFFC, Chan Ping, Vice Chairman of the Beijing People''s Political Consultative Conference and President of the NCPA, Nicholas Platt, Honorary President of the Asia Society, and Thomas F. Skipper, Minister Counsellor of the U.S. Embassy in China, attended the ceremony. On the evening of May 31, Chen Haosu enjoyed the first concert of the Philadelphia Orchestra at the NCPA. The exhibition will be on display at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, together with the Philadelphia Orchestra on its tour in China.
